The kitchen

Everything is cooked the morning you eat it

The grape leaves are rolled at seven, the labneh is strained overnight, and whatever the market had that morning decides half of what goes out at lunch. It is not a long menu because a long menu means a freezer.

Breakfast runs until two because nobody in this neighbourhood has ever eaten breakfast before eleven. Come alone with a book, or bring nine people and we will move tables around until it works.

  • “We came for breakfast at eleven and left at three. Nobody rushed us once, and the bill was less than I expected.”

    Layal Chahine, Regular, Mar Mikhael

  • “Booked the back room for my mother's birthday. Fourteen people, four of them fussy, and every plate came out right.”

    Tarek Bou Nassif, Achrafieh

  • “The taouk is the best in Beirut and I will argue with anyone about it. The hummus is not far behind.”

    Maya Khoury, Gemmayze

FAQ

Questions we get asked

Do I need to book?

Not for breakfast or lunch — walk in and we will find you a table. Friday and Saturday evenings fill up, so message us on WhatsApp and we will hold one.

Is there vegetarian food?

Most of the mezze menu is vegetarian and a good part of it is vegan. Tell the waiter and they will point you at what works.

Can I see the menu before coming?

The whole menu with prices is on this site, and we update it the same day anything changes. No PDF to download.

Do you deliver?

Within Mar Mikhael, Gemmayze and Achrafieh. Message us on WhatsApp with your order and address.
